Chopper and I went out to Cypress Gardens and the Old Santee Canal today, and while I got a lot of photos, I got one that I’m proud to call my photo of the day today. Cypress Gardens is a lovely old swamp, and as we were paddling around, I saw something in the water that caught my eye. As we passed, I realized it was a tiny bird, and more to the point – it was alive. We swiped it out of the water and after a few minutes of drying out and warming up, it began to flutter about. When we left, it was headed to the animal care center for an exam. I’m not sure what species it is, although it’s definitely a flycatcher of some kind.
I saved a bird today.
