It’s funny to me to think of the differences between Chopper and me, and the fact that we have made a happy life together.
Chopper lived all over the place in western North Carolina and upstate South Carolina in his youth, while I lived in the same house from the time I came home from the hospital as an infant until the day I went to college. I went to Randolph School from kindergarten until twelfth grade while Chopper went to a multitude of different schools, most notably Christ Church Episcopal School in Greenville, SC, where he graduated high school.
Chopper and I have been together since our freshman year at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia, and stayed such despite a long-distance stint when Chopper attended Greenville Tech and later the College of Charleston. We both fell in love with Charleston and stayed here when we were married on August 9, 1997. We both appreciate the city and have taken every advantage of our downtown location.
We are quite happy to be a family with our hedgehog Dexter. (No matter how he gets, he will always be a baby hedgehog.)
